Areas of Experience

I provide psychological services to individuals, couples, families and groups for a variety of issues including:

  • Depression & Anxiety
  • Self-esteem Issues
  • Relationship Counselling (e.g., communication and intimacy problems)
  • Personal and Work-Related Stress
  • Anger management
  • Chronic unhappiness (e.g., feelings of alienation and despair)
  • Grief Counselling (e.g., grief and loss due to death, divorce)
  • Past and Recent Trauma / Abuse (e.g. post-traumatic stress)
  • Family of Origin Issues
  • Parenting Issues
  • Adjustment to Physical Health Concerns
  • Terminal Illness (e.g., HIV, Cancer)
  • Self-injury (e.g., cutting)
  • Substance abuse

I also provide services for Health Care Workers, Psychotherapists and Other Professionals for issues such as:

  • Burnout
  • Secondary and vicarious traumatization
  • Clinical consultation / supervision

Part of my practice specializes in providing confidential psychological services to health care workers and other professionals. "Care for the care-giver" is often overlooked until serious emotional and health concerns arise. In my work with professionals, I find that sensitivity to issues of shame, trust and privacy is essential otherwise the therapeutic work is stymied.
